This Boston shaker set from Bar Professional consists of two stainless steel tins that you seal together with a tap and release with another tap. With a total capacity of 80 cl, it can make two cocktails in a single motion.
The bartender’s choice
Unlike a cobbler shaker, which has a built-in strainer and cap that can freeze shut, the Boston has none of that. Two tins, nothing more. This makes it quicker to fill, quicker to empty, and easier to keep clean. You strain separately with a Hawthorne strainer, giving you more control over what ends up in the glass.
How to open it
Place the small tin at a slight angle on the large one rather than straight on, then give it a short tap with the palm of your hand. When opening it, tap the rim with the heel of your hand at the point where the tins meet. After a few times, it will feel natural. Stainless steel is dishwasher-safe.
