The Bar Professional Nakiri Knife is a Japanese-inspired knife with a straight, thin 16.5 cm cutting edge. While a classic chef’s knife rocks, you cut with a nakiri by moving straight down: the entire blade makes contact with the cutting board, allowing you to slice through herbs, citrus wheels, cucumber, and ginger in one motion. A so-called Spanish point has been added to the tip, allowing you to perform precise tasks such as cutting garnishes.
Made for work behind the bar
The curved handle gives you maximum control and keeps your knuckles clear of the board, even when you are cutting for long periods. The steel blade is sturdy enough for working with ice — useful when breaking large blocks down into clear pieces for old fashioneds or highballs. The knife is dishwasher-safe, although you can keep the edge sharpest for longest by rinsing it by hand and storing it dry.
