Here the names matter more than the model numbers. The Amsterdam vaasje is the classic Dutch beer glass with its slightly rounded shape, offered here in 34 cl and in a smaller 29 cl version. In a bar about 25 cl of beer goes in, plus the head of foam. The fluitje is the narrow, tall beer glass of 19 cl, meant to be finished quickly so the beer stays cold. The spatje, in the 21 cl Pampus version, is the glass for jenever with a splash added, and the 3.5 cl Bostonshot is the small glass for neat jenever or a shot. For soft drinks and mixers there are the 27 cl Jordaan long drink and the 22 cl Rock Roll, both in twelves. There are also two lighter ranges: Lily with a 33 cl tumbler and a 40 cl long drink glass, and Rose Odin with the same two shapes in 33 and 36 cl. So choose by name, by size and by the number per box, because that is where the difference lies.

This line is made for volume. In a canteen or at an event you want glasses that stack, that fit a standard crate and that nobody misses if one drops. Pour the vaasje with the glass tilted and bring it upright at the end, for a head of about two fingers. The fluitje you fill to just below the rim, because it takes little foam. The 27 cl Jordaan long drink is the workable size for cola with rum, in other words a Cuba Libre, and the 36 cl Rose Odin long drink glass has enough height for a Mojito with crushed ice and mint. For jenever the Dutch custom applies: fill the small glass to the brim and take the first sip from the bar with your head bowed. Keep the Bostonshot cold for that and only fill it at the moment itself.

Mammoet glasses are made of ordinary soda-lime glass with a thick wall and a weighted base. That makes them heavier than a tempered hospitality glass, but also easier to replace when things do go wrong. They can all go in the dishwasher, including a professional rack conveyor machine at high temperature. Do watch out when stacking: glasses that come out of the machine still warm and are put inside each other straight away will suck themselves together. Let them cool on a rack first. If two glasses do get stuck, stand the bottom one in warm water and pour cold water into the top one, and they will come apart without pulling.
