Manual ice crusher that grinds ice cubes into crushed ice with a hand crank. Fill the hopper on top, turn the crank, and the fine ice falls into the collection container below. Suitable for a busy home bar or a small hospitality bar without an ice machine.
What you can make with it
The crusher produces loose, granular ice for juleps, swizzles, cobblers, and tiki cocktails. Unlike a basic ice breaker, it can grind larger quantities consecutively: enough to prepare four to six glasses without refilling in between. The grain size depends on how hard your cubes are; ice straight from the freezer produces the driest result. If you work with a lot of crushed ice, you will also want sturdy tumbler glasses that can withstand the cold.
Maintenance and placement
Place the crusher on a level surface and hold it with one hand while turning the crank; the base alone is not always sufficient with hard ice. Fill the hopper in batches rather than all at once, so the crank turns more easily. Clean the appliance immediately after use with lukewarm water and a soft brush, as melting ice residue can leave limescale behind. Leave all parts open to air-dry before reassembling them. Serve the ice with an ice scoop and store it in an ice bucket.
