For a fully laid table you usually need three or four glasses per setting. The 25.3 cl water glass or the 32 cl tumbler stands front right, next to it the 30 cl white wine glass or the 36.8 cl Chardonnay glass, and behind those the 47.5 cl red wine glass. If you are serving something heavier, you reach for the 60 cl Bordeaux glass or the 63 cl Burgundy glass. For the aperitif there is a 21 cl flute, and to close the meal an 8 cl shot glass. Fill the 21 cl flute to two fingers below the rim and along the wall, so the carbonation stays put. If you are building an aperitif in that glass, such as a kir royal, pour the liqueur first.
