Bormioli Rocco Tre Sensi

The 30.5 cl is the white wine bowl: narrow enough to keep the wine cold and still roomy enough to get a good nose on it. The 43 cl is a middle size that copes with full-bodied whites and with light reds, which makes it the safest choice if you only want to buy one size. The 55 cl is the generous bowl for aromatic red wine, where the scent only really opens up once you swirl it. The flutes of 15 and 21 cl differ only in capacity: the 15 cl is an aperitif size, the 21 cl a full glass.

Never pour more than one-third into a goblet. For the 55 cl glass, that amounts to about eighteen centiliters, and that empty space above is the whole point of the glass. Swirl it with the stem on the table, in small circles, until the wine leaves a film on the sides. In the 15 cl flute, pour a Kir Royal as an aperitif, and a full Mimosa with orange juice fits in the 21 cl glass.

The rim is drawn thin and that is the vulnerable part. With this series, damage almost always starts at the top rim and not at the stem. Place the glasses in the dishwasher so that the rims stand free and do not touch each other. Choose a cycle that does not go above sixty degrees, because hot air in the drying phase makes glass dull over time.

For glasses that are even larger than 55 cl, see the red wine glasses, and for the smaller sizes, see the white wine glasses. All sparkling wine models are grouped under champagne flutes. You can find the rest of the brand under Bormioli Rocco. If you want to let a young red wine breathe before pouring it into the glass, do so in a decanter.
