Arcoroc Domaine

Domaine comes in three sizes, and the right one depends on the wine you pour most often. The 27 cl glass is the compact option for white wine: you pour a modest measure, the wine stays cool and it is finished before it turns lukewarm. The 37 cl is the all-rounder that handles white and red equally well. The 47 cl is the bowl for red wine, with room above the liquid to swirl without spilling. All three come in sets of six. Fill a Domaine to the widest point of the bowl and no higher. In the 47 cl that means about a third full, which lets the wine breathe and keeps the aromas hanging above it. With the 27 cl you can be a little more generous, because white wine is meant to be drunk while it is still cold. The stem is there to be held: your hand around the bowl warms the wine faster than you would think. The same bowl works just as well for an aperol spritz or a glass of sangria.

Tempered glass is not unbreakable, but it copes with knocks and temperature swings better than ordinary soda-lime glass. That is why Domaine can simply go in the dishwasher, including a commercial machine that runs hundreds of cycles a week. Place the glasses apart in the rack so the bowls do not touch, because rims tapping against each other are the most common cause of damage. Let them drain upside down and polish them with a dry cloth afterwards if you want to avoid limescale streaks.
