Onis Tarq

The 26 cl is the glass for soft drinks, juice and beer by the small glass. The 35 cl is the all-rounder that takes water with ice and in which a cocktail on ice sits just right. The long drink glass of 34.5 cl holds almost the same but is narrower and taller, which keeps the bubbles of tonic or cola in for longer. All three belong with the stacking glasses. If it is numbers you are after, count in twelves: that is roughly what fits in one dishwasher basket.

A gin tonic shows at its best in the tall 34.5 cl glass, with ice up to the rim before anything liquid goes in. The same goes for a cuba libre: ice first, then rum, then cola along the side, and only at the end a slice of lime. In the 35 cl tumbler you work with one large lump instead of cubes, because it melts more slowly and keeps the ratio intact.

Stackable glass has one well-known nuisance: two glasses that suck tight inside each other. With Tarq that rarely happens because the wall tapers, but with three or more glasses on top of each other it can still occur. In that case, stand the bottom glass in lukewarm water and fill the top one with cold water. Beyond that, the range is made for daily dishwasher use, with a tempered rim that stands up to knocks in the basket.
