The 17-centiliter glass is a low tumbler for neat spirits or a small drink, and also serves as an amuse-bouche glass on the table. The 30-centiliter glass is the classic whisky size: enough room for a large ice cube while still being comfortable to hold. The 43-centiliter glass is the long drink glass for anything with ice and soda, using about one-third ice and topping up the rest with soda. If you look around more broadly, you’ll find comparable models among the whisky glasses and the long drink glasses.

In a ridged glass, large ice works better than crushed ice: a single cube melts more slowly and keeps the ridges visible. Add the ice first, then the spirit, and only afterward the soda, so you don’t have to stir and the carbonation stays intact. In the 30-centiliter glass, make an Old Fashioned right in the glass. In the 43-centiliter glass, make a Gin & Tonic with room for botanicals. Measure the drink with a jigger if you want to pour consistently.

Luxion is harder than ordinary soda-lime glass and keeps its shine longer, even after hundreds of machine washes. The glasses can go in the dishwasher on a normal programme. Do dose the rinse aid sparingly, because an excess settles in the ribs and makes the pattern dull rather than bright. For hand washing, lukewarm water with a little soap is enough, since hot water dulls the crystal faster.

Do you want the same Luxion quality but in a smooth shape without ridges? Then take a look at the other RCR series. RCRIf you are mainly looking for a stackable set of simple glasses for everyday use, the tumbler glasses are a broader starting point with more sizes. And if you are specifically looking for the low shape with a thick base for serving drinks over ice, you will find them together under old fashioned glasses.
