The Mean Green is a 50 cl tiki cup in a solid green finish. Its capacity is generous enough for cocktails built over crushed ice, without needing a refill halfway through. Intended for bars and home bars that serve tiki drinks with a distinctive color on the table.
Serving at 50 cl
Fifty centiliters gives you room for approximately 15 to 18 cl of drink plus a full serving of crushed ice—the ratio used in most tiki recipes. A mai tai, navy grog, or swizzle works well in it. Build the cocktail in the glass rather than pouring it in pre-mixed: the ice then melts more evenly and dilutes your drink as intended. A 30 cm or longer bar spoon reaches the bottom, which is useful with this height.
Choosing and keeping it clean
The green finish makes the cup easy to identify on a rack, which helps when you use multiple tiki sizes together. If you often serve drinks in different sizes, place the 33 cl and 53 cl versions from the same tiki glass collection beside it, so staff can recognize the size by its color and height. Rinse the cups immediately after use: syrup and purée quickly stick to the relief. For storage, glass crates work better than open shelves because they prevent the cups from knocking against each other.
