Kleiner Feigling
The small square bottles with the fig logo that appear at every student party. Everything about the taste, alcohol percentage, shots and the glass that goes with it.

A fig liqueur that became a party classic
Kleiner Feigling was launched in 1990 by the German liqueur distillery Behn in Eckernförde, near Kiel. It is a vodka-based liqueur with fig flavour: 'Feigling' literally means 'little fig', but in German it also means 'coward', a pun that the brand has never outgrown. The bottle is square, small and recognisable by the green fig on the label.
Its appeal lies in the format and temperature: 2 cl, ice-cold from the freezer, downed in one go. With 20% alcohol, Kleiner Feigling is much milder than a regular shot, and its sweet fig flavour makes it approachable. In Germany, a whole range of flavours later appeared under the same name; in the Netherlands, the original is mainly available.
In brief
What Kleiner Feigling packages are available?
The taste is the same across all sizes: the difference is the format in which you buy it.

Kleiner Feigling 50 cl
The half-litre bottle for the freezer. Good for around 25 2 cl shots; the most economical option if you pour more often.

Kleiner Feigling 12 x 2 cl
Twelve original 2 cl bottles. Exactly one shot per bottle, so there is nothing to measure and nothing to wash up.

Kleiner Feigling 10 cl
The small bottle for on the go or for trying. Good for four or five shots.
The 2 cl bottles are the most convenient; the 50 cl bottle is the best value.
Sweet fig, served ice-cold
Fig & caramel
Sweet dried fig with a hint of caramel and vanilla. Little alcohol sharpness on the nose.
Sweet and smooth
Full and sweet, with figs and red fruit. The 20% alcohol is barely noticeable, making it easy to drink.
Short and fresh
Short, clean finish with a lightly fresh note. Served ice-cold, mostly fruit remains.
Flavor profile of Kleiner Feigling ice-cold from the freezer. At room temperature, the sweetness comes through more strongly.
Three ways to drink Kleiner Feigling
Kleiner Feigling is best served ice-cold. Put the bottle in the freezer for at least two hours; its alcohol content keeps it from freezing, but it does become syrupy.
As a shot straight from the freezer
Pour 2 cl of ice-cold Kleiner Feigling into a shot glass and drink it in one go. The cold makes the sweetness less overpowering and gives the drink a slightly thicker texture.
Glass: shot glass →With cola or Sprite
4 cl Kleiner Feigling with 150 ml cola or Sprite in a highball glass filled with ice. The fig flavor pairs surprisingly well with cola, making it a smooth, sweet long drink.
Glass: highball glass →In a sweet cocktail
Replace the fruit liqueur in a Woo Woo or Purple Rain with Kleiner Feigling: 2 cl with vodka, cranberry juice and ice. Sweeter, fruitier and much smoother than the original.
