Jack Daniel's is a Tennessee whiskey from Lynchburg, a town of a few hundred residents in the southern United States. Jasper 'Jack' Daniel registered his distillery in 1866, which the brand says is America's oldest registered distillery. It still stands there, in the same spot by the spring in Cave Spring Hollow.
What sets Jack Daniel's apart from bourbon is the Lincoln County Process: the fresh whiskey drips through three meters of sugar maple charcoal before going into new, charred oak barrels. This makes it smoother and rounder. The town of Lynchburg is in a dry county: you can taste the whiskey there, but you can't buy it.

Bottled at 50% under U.S. bonded rules: one distillery, one season, at least four years old. Full-bodied and powerful.

Sweet, smooth, and a little smoky
Vanilla, caramel & banana

Jack & cola
50 ml Old No. 7 with 150 ml cola in an ice-filled highball glass, with a lime wedge. The world's best-known whiskey mix; Tennessee Fire adds a spicy kick.

Pour 40 ml over one large ice cube in a heavy tumbler. The ice mellows the sweetness and keeps the whiskey cold for a long time without diluting it.
