Arcoroc Vina

Start with the wine glasses. For white wine you are well served by 26 to 36 cl, and the 30 cl Juliette glass is also available with a fill line. For red wine take 40 to 58 cl, because the wine needs room to open up. The Splendid glass and the 58 cl Vap glass are the largest bowls in the range.

Alongside these are the 19 and 23 cl flutes for champagne and prosecco, tumblers of 34 and 35 cl for water and soft drinks, and long drink glasses of 35 and 36 cl. The outlier is the 70 cl gin and tonic glass: a balloon shape with plenty of room for ice, tonic and garnish.

Fill a wine glass to the widest point of the bowl. In a 40 cl glass that comes to roughly 12 to 15 centilitres, leaving enough air above the wine to hold the aroma. White wine is poured cooler and in smaller measures.

Fill the 70 cl gin and tonic glass completely with ice before the gin goes in; the more ice, the slower it melts. The proportions are set out under gin and tonic. The flute holds the bubbles for a long time and is therefore also the shape for a mimosa or a bellini.

Vina is made from tempered soda-lime glass. Tempering makes the glass stronger against knocks and against temperature swings, which makes all the difference in a commercial dishwasher running all evening. The rim is reinforced, because that is where damage starts.

Everything in the range is dishwasher safe. Do not let stems rest against each other in the rack, because most breakage happens not while pouring but in the rack and in the cupboard. A limescale film comes off with a splash of vinegar in the rinsing water.
