Havana Club Selección de Maestros
The rum crafted together by all the Havana Club master blenders. Each maestro chooses their best rums, which are then aged in selected barrels and bottled straight from the barrel at 45%. Full-bodied, powerful and made to be savored neat.

The work of all the maestros together
Havana Club Selección de Maestros is the result of the combined craftsmanship of the Maestros del Ron Cubano, the master blenders who safeguard the house style. First, each maestro chooses the rums they consider best. These are blended, aged further in specially selected barrels, and bottled straight from the barrel.
That last detail explains the alcohol percentage: 45%, noticeably higher than the 7 Años at 40%. You get more body, more wood and a richer aroma. This is the Havana Club for whisky lovers, and a rum best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
At a glance
Full-bodied, woody and powerful
Rich and deep
A rich, full aroma with oak and warm, dark notes. Give it a little time in the glass.
Bold
Full-bodied and noticeably stronger than the 7 Años. The wood and maturity of the selected rums take center stage.
Long and warm
A long finish where the 45% alcohol makes itself felt. A drop of water makes it softer and rounder.
Tasting notes for Havana Club Selección de Maestros neat. A few drops of water lower the intensity and let the aromas open up further.
How to taste a 45% rum
Taste it like a high-proof whisky: start small, smell gently and keep water close at hand.
Neat, with water on the side
Pour 3 cl into a tulip-shaped tasting glass. Smell gently first and take a small sip. Then add a few drops of water with a pipette or teaspoon and taste again.
Tasting glasses →With one large ice cube
Pour 4 cl over a large ice cube in a heavy tumbler. The cold softens the 45% ABV, while the melting water gradually opens up the rum.
Whisky glasses →For a bolder Daiquiri
Shake 50 ml Selección de Maestros, 25 ml lime juice and 15 ml sugar syrup hard, then strain into a chilled coupe. A Daiquiri with much more depth than one made with white rum.
