Hooghoudt Kalmoes Beerenburg
Hooghoudt's refined Beerenburg: 77 herbs, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and a mellow hint of calamus root. Warmer and rounder than 74 kruiden, making it a Beerenburg to enjoy after a meal, too.

Why calamus makes a difference
Calamus is the root of a marsh plant. In this Beerenburg, it lends a soft, rounded character. Hooghoudt combines it with a total of 77 herbs, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger especially noticeable. The distillery describes it as refined and complex.
Alongside Beerenburg 74 kruiden, this is the milder, warmer sibling. While 74 kruiden is green and bitter, with bay leaf and gentian, Kalmoes smells more like spiced cake and speculaas. It has the same alcohol content: 30%.
