Puschkin
The Berlin vodka with the coloured bottles that is served as an ice-cold shot at every party. Everything about the flavours, percentages, cocktails and the glass that goes with it.

A Russian recipe that ended up in Berlin
Puschkin comes from Berlin. The brand traces its recipe back to families who fled to Germany after the Russian Revolution and brought their vodka-making methods with them. The vodka is distilled three times and then filtered over ice, a modern version of an old Russian technique once used for the tsar's vodka.
The classic Puschkin Vodka is 37.5%, but in the Netherlands the brand is best known for its coloured flavoured varieties. These are lower in alcohol, between 16.6 and 17.5%, and are made to be drunk ice-cold as shots: blood orange in Red, blackcurrant in Black Sun, hazelnut and nougat in Nuts & Nougat, and watermelon in Watermelon.
In brief
What types of Puschkin are there?

Puschkin Vodka
The classic vodka: triple-distilled and filtered over ice, smooth and pure in taste. The bottle for mixing.

Puschkin Red
The best-known red: vodka with the bittersweet taste of blood orange. Ice-cold as a shot or with sparkling water.

Puschkin Black Sun
Blackcurrant on a vodka base, deep in colour and sweet in taste. Intended to be drunk ice-cold as a shot.

Puschkin Nuts & Nougat
Not a cream liqueur, but a vodka with hazelnut and nougat. Delicious ice-cold as a shot or mixed with milk.

Puschkin Watermelon
Juicy watermelon on a vodka base. Fresh and sweet; also delicious with Sprite and plenty of ice.

Puschkin Vodka 1 liter
The one-liter bottle of classic vodka. More economical per glass if you mix a lot or are hosting a party.
Red is the best-known flavor; regular vodka is the bottle to use for mixing.
Neutral and smooth, or sweet and fruity
Smooth and pure
Little harshness thanks to triple distillation and ice filtration. Neutral enough to disappear into any cocktail.
Sweet fruit
Red tastes like blood orange with a bittersweet edge, while Black Sun tastes like blackcurrant. Both are sweet and low in alcohol.
Hazelnut and nougat
Surprisingly full-bodied, with hazelnut and nougat, but without the heaviness of a cream liqueur. With milk, it becomes almost a dessert.
Flavor profile of the Puschkin variants. Regular Puschkin Vodka scores 1/5 for sweetness and fruitiness and 4/5 for strength.
Three ways to drink Puschkin
The flavored variants are best served ice-cold: put the bottle in the freezer for a few hours. Due to their low alcohol content, they become syrupy, making the shot even more enjoyable.
As a shot straight from the freezer
Pour 2 cl of ice-cold Puschkin Red or Black Sun into a shot glass and drink it in one go. The cold softens the sweetness, leaving the fruitiness.
Glass: shot glass →With sparkling water or Sprite
4 cl of a flavored variant with 150 ml sparkling water or Sprite over plenty of ice in a highball glass. Lighter, fresher and perfect for a warm day.
Glass: highball glass →As a Moscow Mule
50 ml Puschkin Vodka with 150 ml ginger beer and 10 ml lime juice in a copper mug filled with ice. The classic vodka cocktail, with neutral vodka as its base.
