First look at what you pour most often. The 41 cl longdrink glass is the working size for anything with ice and a soft drink: tall enough for a decent filling of ice, narrow enough to hold on to the carbonation. The 29.4 cl whisky glass and the 29.7 cl tumbler are close in capacity but differ in how the wall runs, so choose on how the glass sits in the hand. The 6 cl shot glass is the classic size for jenever, herbal bitters and a single shot. Four pieces per pack makes topping up easy.

Build an old fashioned in the whisky glass: sugar, bitters and a dash of bourbon, stir until the sugar is gone, then add ice and only at the end the rest of the spirit. A gin and tonic belongs in the longdrink glass, with the ice first and the tonic down the side. A shot you pour to the rim and preferably drink without ice, because 6 cl warms up faster than you can empty it. Stir in the glass itself, not in a shaker, as long as no juice goes in.

Age is made of Tritan crystal glass, the lead-free type of glass Schott Zwiesel uses for hospitality series. The rim is heat-treated, which makes it less likely to chip when stacked in a rinsing rack. Dishwasher-safe here is not a polite word for occasional: the series has been tested over many hundreds of cycles without visible deposit. It does pay to keep the rinse water descaled, because limescale settles faster than glass wears.
